Fox Legal Expert: McCabe Firing Could Be Obstruction Of Justice

Fox News’ legal expert, Judge Andrew Napolitano appeared on “America’s Newsroom” on Monday where he warned that the firing of former deputy FBI director Andrew McCabe could be seen as obstruction of justice.

Napolitano claimed that McCabe’s firing as “vindictive” and “reckless.”

“Andrew McCabe is more likely than not to be a witness against the attorney general’s boss, the president of the United States,” Napolitano stated. “I think that firing him in that environment could very well be determined to diminish his effectiveness as a witness. What’s that called? Obstruction of justice.”

He went on to say that special counsel Robert Mueller could go on and investigate the matter if he wanted to.

“I don’t know if Bob Mueller wants to go there, but that’s the argument,” he said.

Napolitano also criticized Donald Trump’s lawyer John Dowd for publicly stating that he wanted Mueller’s investigation to be shut down immediately.

“Going on television, saying, ‘I pray that you shut down shop,’ is not the way a lawyer for an innocent defendant conveys the message on TV,” Napolitano said.

Following his remarks on national television Dowd told the Daily Beast that he was talking on Trump’s behalf when he said he wanted the investigation to be shut down. He later took back those remarks.
