Fox News Just Lied About The White Supremacists Quebec Mosque Shooter, Calling Him A Muslim
Fox News will report just about any lie to make Donald Trump look good. Which is why Trump think Fox News is the only network that doesn’t spread lies, when in fact, it might be one of the only networks that spreads “fake news.”
Well as an attempt to distort people away from the truth, Fox News decided to tweet out a huge lie about the man who shot up a Mosque in Quebec, saying that “Suspect in Quebec mosque terror attack was of Moroccan origin.”
This tweet came after it was revealed that the shooter, 27-year-old Alexander Bissonnette, was actually a right-wing Canadian white nationalist.
They didn’t get away with their false misconception, many of their followers demanded that they take down the tweet as it isn’t true.
“[P]olice later announced there was only one suspect in the attack, and Khadir [the Moroccan] was identified as a witness,” Fox News’ Samuel Chamberlain and Ryan Gaydos wrote.
Even after it was proven that the man who Fox News said did the shooting was actually a witness, they still have the tweet posted on their Twitter page.
Not only was Fox News Delivering fake news but even the White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer tried to mislead people. Saying that “[The mosque shooting is] a terrible reminder of why we must remain vigilant and why the President is taking steps to be proactive rather than reactive when it comes to our nation’s safety and security.” This is of course very misleading as the attacker was neither Muslim or from any of the countries Trump banned from entering the U.S.
