No More O’Reilly Factor? Fox News On The Verge Of Losing Its Highest Rated Show
Rupert Murdoch’s sons are now considering pulling Bill O’Reilly off the air after a wave of sexual harassment accusations came out, New York Magazine reported Tuesday.
Both James and Lachlan Murdoch are going against their father’s decision for leaning toward booting O’Reilly, causing infighting within the family.
Since the sexual harassment accusations, the O’Reilly show has lost over 90 advertisers.
According to the report, removing ads from the show and protestors outside Fox News headquarters have influenced the decision of removing O’Reilly.
O’Reilly isn’t the first to be accused of sexual harassment at Fox News. Former CEO Roger Ailes was removed last summer after a sexual harassment scandal.
“Morale is awful,” a female Fox executive reportedly said, adding that “there’s been no word from management to calm the masses,” referring to concerns by employees that budgets were slashed for sexual-harassment settlement payouts.
Having the O’Reilly Factor getting taken off air could mean bad news for Fox News as it is the network’s highest-rated talk show, creating fears about losing viewers if he’s booted.
