Fox News has sunk to a new low: Just days after the embarrassing departure of Bill O’Reilly, horrible fanboy Jesse Watters announced he would also be taking a ‘vacation’ from his co-hosting gig on “The Five,” just three days into the show’s new primetime slot.
The abrupt and previously unmentioned time off came just one day after Watters came under fire for making an inappropriate joke about first daughter Ivanka Trump on air.
“I’m going to be taking a vacation with my family, so I’m not going to be here tomorrow,” Watters said during Wednesday’s broadcast. Watters will also be absent from his weekend show, “Watters’ World,” which will be guest-hosted by his “Five” colleague Kimberly Guilfoyle.
On Tuesday night, “The Five” panel discussed Trump’s appearance at the W20 Summit in Berlin, where she was booed for suggesting her father was an advocate for women’s rights. Watters said that while he didn’t “really get” what was being discussed, he really liked “how Ivanka was speaking into that microphone.” After being criticized, he said in a tweet that he was “referring to Ivanka’s voice.”
Watters’ sudden departure comes as Fox News is in the middle of a sexual harassment scandal that so far has claimed CEO Roger Ailes and top star Bill O’Reilly. Before getting shit-canned, O’Reilly also took an unexpected two-week vacation. O’Reilly was fired before ever returning to air. That certainly won’t happen to Watters, though. I mean, who doesn’t just plan a last-minute ‘vacation’ during the middle of their first week in primetime? Just saying.
