Fox’s Britt Hume Gets Utterly Destroyed Online For Saying Dems ‘Don’t Love’ America
Fox News analyst Brit Hume is being dragged on social media after saying members of the Democratic party “don’t love” America.
Hume on Wednesday shared a tweet on July 4 linking to a post on the conservative political blog, Power Line, titled: “Why do Democrats hate America?”
“Hate may be too strong a word but they sure don’t love it,” Hume wrote in response to the link on Twitter.
The remarks followed results from a recent Gallup poll, which found that a record number of Democratic voters feel less “freedom.” According to the poll, just 32 percent of Democrats say they are “extremely proud” to be American, down from the 43 percent who said the same in 2017.
The Fox News analyst drew backlash from several high-profile names on social media for the controversial post before deleting it later on Wednesday.
Veteran group VoteVets also took a jab at Hume, writing, “Brit Hume thinks Sen Duckworth, Max Cleland, Bob Kerrey, and other Dems who lost limbs in war don’t love their country?”
CNN’s Brian Stelter also criticized the tweet on Twitter. “Geez, Brit Hume. Way to celebrate the 4th. Raise your hand if you think both Democrats and Republicans love America,” he wrote.
A former staffer under former President George W. Bush, Matthew Dowd, condemned Hume’s post on Twitter.
“Come on brit. This is beneath you. Or it used to be,” he tweeted.

Worth keeping in mind that @brithume, who says in this tweet that Democrats “don’t love” America, is the longtime former anchor of “Special Report” — someone who claimed for years to deliver the news to viewers in a fair & balanced way. pic.twitter.com/Q1s37BKdDN

Wow. Many of us are Dems. We risked our lives for America, many of us were wounded, many of us saw friends and fellow patriots die.
Brit Hume thinks @SenDuckworth, Max Cleland, Bob Kerrey, and other Dems who lost limbs in war don't love their country?
Wow. Happy 4th, Brit. https://t.co/LaIgKXNDV6

How do you define patriotic?
Blind loyalty to a tyrant? That may be patriotic somewhere, (Russia, for instance) but it isn’t in the USA.
Dissent is patriotic.
Believing in the Constitution and the rule of law is patriotic.
Taking care of our citizens is patriotic.

You’re a fucking moron Brit.

It's BECAUSE we love it that we're not proud right now. Think next time.

I’m a Democrat who loves my country. What I love most is that our Founding Fathers laid the groundwork for its citizens to seek a more PERFECT UNION. Don’t misinterpret my disdain for our big Trumpian step backward from that vision for lacking love of country #GodBlessAmerica

Unable to stand the backlash, Hume deleted his tweet and offered an explanation. It didn’t go well.
I'm a Democrat. I love this country. I don't love Fox News and its ongoing shameful work to undermine the great traditions of my great country.
You are complicit.

Why so quick to condemn fellow Americans on the 4th? You've become part of the problem.
