Matt Gaetz Flew With Trump On AF1 Hours Before Gaetz Self-Quarantined Over Coronavirus

Republican Congressman Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL), Gaetz, who wore a biohazard gas mask last week on the House floor in an effort to ridicule Democrats over their concern about the spread of Coronavirus, announced on Monday that he is going under self-quarantine for a 14-day period after coming in contact with an individual who tested positive for the deadly virus.

Hours before the announcement, however, Gaetz was seen on Monday boarding Air Force One departing from Orlando to Washington, D.C., with President Trump, Politico reports.

The Florida Republican is awaiting test results for the novel coronavirus after he interacted with a person at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) who tested positive for the virus.

“Congressman Gaetz was informed today that he came into contact with a CPAC attendee 11 days ago who tested positive for COVID-19,” Gaetz tweeted.

In a second tweet, he added: “Our Washington office will be closed during this time, with our Pensacola office remaining open.”
