George Conway, a conservative attorney and husband of White House counselor Kellyanne Conway, has suggested that President Donald Trump must go to prison for retaliating against witnesses who testified about his criminal conduct.
A day after being acquitted by Senate Republicans, Trump fired Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman and U.S. ambassador to the Ukraine Gordon Sondland.
Both officials testified during the House impeachment inquiry and provided crucial testimony that led to two articles of impeachment against the president.
“What normally happens when a public official retaliates against a witness who testified about the public official’s criminal conduct is that the public official goes to prison,” Conway tweeted.
