Giuliani Goes Down in Flames After Attacking Fox’s Andrew Napolitano For Calling Out Trump’s Obstruction

President Donald Trump’s personal attorney Rudy Giuliani on Friday ripped Fox News legal analyst Andrew Napolitano for delivering “bad news” to the network’s conservative viewers about President Donald Trump’s potential legal troubles.

Napolitano, a former New Jersey Superior Court judge from 1987 to 1995, recently declared that Attorney General William Barr’s defense of Trump’s possible obstruction “absurd.”

Giuliani didn’t like what he heard and decided to attack the former judge.

“I consider Judge Napolitano to be a friend so I write this with regret. An obstruction case where there is no proof of an underlying crime is questionable. If you add to it nothing actually obstructed, there’s no case. Judge reconsider your position. This is a Weismann,” the former New York mayor wrote.

But Mimi Rocah, a former assistant U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York from 2001 to 2017, shot back, saying Giuliani was dead wrong.

“This is 100% wrong as a legal & factual matter,” she wrote. “Obstruction is – & must be – prosecutable regardless of an underlying crime or else “successful” obstructors would always be rewarded. 1/2

Rocah, now an MSNBC legal analyst and criminal justice fellow at Pace University Law School, said the evidence uncovered in special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation did not support Giuliani’s argument.
