President Trump is being torched online after his tone-deaf response to the horrific shooting at a Texas high school that left at least eight people dead.
Multiple students have been reported in the shooting at Santa Fe High School in southeast Texas. Local authorities said in a statement that the situation has been “contained.”
As the news broke, the president tweeted: “School shooting in Texas. Early reports not looking good. God bless all!”
The attack at Santa Fe High School began around 8 a.m. on Friday. A student told Houston-area media that someone had entered the campus carrying what appeared to be a shotgun.
Sheriff Ed Gonzalez indicated at a press conference that the death toll in the attack was likely to fall between eight and 10 people. He said one person is in custody and a second one has been detained as a “person of interest.”
“Both are believed to be students here at the school,” Gonzalez said.
Trump has been forced to grapple with multiple school shootings during his presidency, including February’s massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla., that left 17 dead.
The White House at the time called for legislation that would arm teachers to confront school shooters.
Twitter users were quick to blast Trump for his cold response to Friday’s shooting.
School shooting in Texas. Early reports not looking good. God bless all!

Why are you tweeting this?

When, exactly, do school shooting reports “look GOOD”?!
The last time you were in Texas was for an NRA convention where Parkland student survivors were called terrorists, yeah? The same NRA that funneled Russian money to your campaign?

How many more shootings before you do something about #GunControl #EnoughIsEnough
— Gracie🧜🏼♀️ (@GracieHoggarth) May 18, 2018
Maybe its time to pull your head out of the NRAs @$$ and do something about it. Or is it still to early to talk about keeping our children safe?

TRUMP supporters. MORON needs to go.
Very Sad, more blood, more violence in the 2 last years than ever before.— NEVER TRUMP-Bold Resistant (@NeverTrumpist) May 18, 2018
Blood on your watch again. Blood on the hands of the @NRA again too. I guess money is still more important than human life. Also “not looking good” is a phrase devoid of compassion.

#buildthewall might have helped right? Oh my bad, that wasn't an #illegalimmigrant that actually was an American citizen
— Puma al aire (@Pumaalaire) May 18, 2018
Why don't you do something about it? Thoughts and Prayers don't stop bullets. So tired of our kids getting killed because NRA is more important to you.
— Elizabeth Graf (@graf_elizabeth) May 18, 2018
What the fuck is wrong with you?
— Richard Edwards (@margotnuclear) May 18, 2018
America's coward, ladies and gentlemen. Right here.
God bless all is just code for "I don't give a fuck how many children die, because I am too much of a fucking coward to stand up to my base".@nra @dloesch and fuck you both too
