New Google Chrome App Delivers Big Blow To ‘Hate Group’ Alt-Right

The term “alt-right”, which has risen to prominence on sites like Breitbart, was coined in an apparent effort to rebrand racist white nationalism. But a new Google Chrome extension will ensure you’ll never see the phrase ‘alt-right’ again.

The new free app replaces the term “alt-right” with the phrase “rebranded white nationalism,” according to the software programmers.

While some media outlets have refused to use the term, “alt-right” seems to be gaining traction. The Washington Post, CNN, and Democracy Now!, and Politico have all published headlines in the last 24 hours using the term, and trend which has alarmed and frustrated many Americans.

The Southern Policy Law Center has labeled the “alt-right” movement as a “hate group,” noting that “the Alt-Righ, is a set of far-right ideologies, groups and individuals whose core belief is that ‘white identity’ is under attack by multicultural forces using “political correctness” and “social justice” to undermine white people and “their” civilization.”
