GOP Congressman Blames Female Senators For Failed Healthcare, Calls Them Out On A ‘Duel’
Republican Rep. Blake Farenthold has blamed female senators for the failure of the bill that would repeal and replace Obamacare.
According to Faranthold, who spoke with a radio station in Corpus Christi, Texas, “some female senators from the Northeast” are responsible for the Senate’s failure to pass a bill.
He added that “if it was a guy from south Texas, I might ask him to step outside and settle this Aaron Burr-style.”
Farenthold is referring to Vice President Aaron Burr who shot and killed Alexander Hamilton, the United States’ first Treasury secretary and a signatory of the Constitution, in a duel in 1804.
Farenthold did not specify which female senators he was referring to.
Sens. Susan Collins (R-Maine), Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) and Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) have all been major opponents of their party’s drafts of legislation dismantling ObamaCare.
