GOP Congressman Caught On Tape Mocking Women Who Were Groped By Republican Candidate
A new audio tape has been unearthed by CNN, in which Republican Congressman Jason Lewis (R-MN) is mocking women distraught from alleged unwanted groping and kissing from then presidential-candidate Herman Cain, using a fake tearful voice and saying “come on! She wasn’t raped.”
Lewis stunning remarks came during a 2012 interview on his old radio show, “The Jason Lewis Show.”
“I don’t want to be callous here, but how traumatizing was it?” Lewis said on the show. “How many women at some point in their life have a man come on to them, place their hand on their shoulder or maybe even their thigh, kiss them, and they would rather not have it happen, but is that really something that’s going to be seared in your memory that you’ll need therapy for?”
This is not the first time that Lewis, who is up for reelection in an extremely tight race next month, has gotten into hot water for his radio show comments.
CNN surfaced two more clips. In one, Lewis questions why a woman can’t be called a “slut” if she’s “acting like” one. In another, Lewis suggests that women tend to vote for liberals because they are emotional and bad with finances.
