GOP Congressman In Middle Of Sex Scandal Calls It Quits
Republican Congressman Patrick Meehan, who used taxpayer money to settle a sexual harassment suit, will not seek re-election this year, according to a spokesman for House Speaker Paul Ryan.
According to Ryan spokesman Doug Andres, Meehan told the Speaker on Thursday that he will not be running this year.
The New York Times published a bombshell last week that revealed Meehan used thousands of dollars of taxpayer funds to settle a sexual misconduct claim from a former female aide who accused him of making unwanted romantic overtures.
After the article was published, Ryan removed Meehan from the House Ethics Committee.
