Rep. Bryan Zollinger (R-ID) went on a Facebook rant suggesting that former President Barack Obama was completely responsible for the violence that ignited in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Zollinger wrote on Facebook:
“I’m not saying it is true, but I am suggesting that it is completely plausible.”
Zollinger shared a link in his post of an article published at the American Thinker. The article claimed that Obama staged the rally in Charlottesville with the help of their mayor George Soros.
“The conflagration in Charlottesville is beginning to feel like a set-up, perhaps weeks or months in the planning,” the author wrote. “We know that Obama and his inner circle have set up a war room in his D.C. home to plan and execute resistance to the Trump administration and his legislative agenda.”
Zollinger soon after regretted sharing the link.
“In hindsight, maybe it was a mistake to post it,” he said. “I didn’t mean for it to ruffle any feathers.”
But the lawmakers reiterated his believe that it was “plausible.”
