GOP Secretary Of State Being Sued For Stalking Employee After She Refused To Sleep With Him: Report
Louisiana Secretary of State Tom Schedler is being sued by a female employee for making multiple unwanted sexual advances towards her and for forcing his security to follow her and inform him of her whereabouts.
According to local news station WBRZ, former employee Dawn Ross is alleging Schedler of making sexual advances toward her daily while also expressing how much he loved her.
Ross would refuse these advances, which ultimately lead to Schedler forcing his security officials to follow her and report her whereabouts.
According to the lawsuit, Schedler went as far as digging up personal information on a man Ross was dating while working for him.
“On at least one occasion, Schedler obtained the license plate number of Petitioner’s boyfriend and had the plate run,” the lawsuit states. “Schedler put the print out of the license plate run on his desk for Petitioner to see along with the business address where her boyfriend was employed. Petitioner was threatened by Schedler’s behavior.”
Schedler sent out a statement regarding the issue but did not directly deny the accusations.
“We take any allegation of sexual harassment very seriously here at the Secretary of State’s Office,” he said in a statement given to WBRZ. “I have not seen the suit or the specific details but as the father of three grown daughters and three granddaughters I can assure the public that I believe in a safe workplace, free from harassment, and will continue my record of transparency with my constituents.”
