House Launches New Investigation Into Whether Trump Lied To Mueller: Report
A new report revealed on Monday that the House of Representatives has launched an investigation to see if Donald Trump lied to special counsel Robert Mueller at any point during his 22-month long investigation into Russian election meddling.
According to The Washington Post, the attorney for the House revealed the existence of the investigation to a panel of judges.
The House is arguing that secret grand-jury materials from Mueller’s probe must be seen by its investigators to conduct a proper investigation.
The Dept. of Justice has been blocking that request after a lower court ordered the materials handed over to Congress.
If investigators find that Trump did lie, he could be facing serious time in prison as it is a crime to lie to the FBI or the DOJ.
