Hey Trump, Houston Police Chief Has An Important Question About The Harvey Recovery

On Sunday Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo warned that President Trump’s rhetoric about immigration could have a negative impact on the city’s recovery from Hurricane Harvey.

Appearing on ABC’s “This Week”, Acevedo said that the “ugliness” of the immigration debate could hurt the city as it tries to rebuild from the devastating storm,

“So many homes have been damaged and some beyond repair, in our state. And then you add on top of that all the issues with the immigration debate and all the ugliness of that,” Acevedo said.

Then he posed an important question for those pushing this anti-immigration ugly narrative:

“What are you going to tell the American people, when we’ve scared away so many hard-working people?'”

Acevedo’s comments come as President Trump is expected to issue a decision on the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, which temporarily prevents people who were brought to the U.S. illegally as minors from being deported.

Watch the video below, and be sure to share this post to challenge President Trump and his GOP allies to answer Acevedo’s question:
