How Much Will Trump’s Wall Really Cost? Homeland Security Reveals The Answer And It’s Nothing Close To What He Promised
Donald Trump built his campaign around hate. One of his biggest campaign promises was to build a wall on the US-Mexico border because according to him Mexico brings their worst people and they’re all rapist, which is the furthest thing from the truth.
Trump told the people that the wall will take less than two years to build and it would cost only $12 billion. That number, already being high as it is for a wall that is not needed, is no where close to what experts at Homeland Security estimated. They presumed that the wall will cost up to $21.6 billion, and it will take almost four years to build, according to Reuters.
The Trump administration was hoping to get it done before the 2018 elections, which newly-mobilized liberals are already eying as a chance to effectively cripple Trump’s agenda.
“The wall is getting designed right now,” Trump said on Wednesday. “A lot of people say, oh, oh, Trump was only kidding with the wall. I wasn’t kidding. I don’t kid. I don’t kid.”
Another thing Trump promised about the wall is that Mexico will be paying for it, which according to their President Enrique Peña Nieto they will not be paying for a stupid wall. Trump also proposed that if Mexico denies to pay for the wall he will be imposing a drastic 20% import tax on Mexico, which of course would result in taxpayers indirectly paying for the wall by paying higher prices for imported goods.
Americans have already spoken, and according to a recent poll more than 60% of Americans oppose the idea of the wall. The math just doesn’t add up, if Trump is working to “make America great again” why is he building a wall Americans don’t want? And why is it that American taxpayers will be the ones that will be paying for the wall? Makes no sense, but for Trump it makes all the sense in the world.
