Huckabee Sanders Gets Torched For Defending Trump’s Fallen Soldier Smear Of Obama

Following a disastrous press conference in the White House Rose Garden Monday, White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders tried to push back against the almost universal condemnation of President Trump’s smear of previous presidents not speaking with the families of fallen soldiers, saying the president was “Just stating a fact.” It didn’t go well.

After being asked why he had not yet addressed the four U.S. soldiers killed in Niger on Oct. 4, Trump defended his delay by claiming that former President Obama and other past presidents didn’t call the families of fallen soldiers.

“If you look at President Obama and other presidents, most of them didn’t make calls” to the families of soldiers who died in combat,” Trump claimed.

His remarks prompted a former Obama official to call Trump a “liar” and “a deranged animal.”

According to Huckabee Sanders, “The president wasn’t criticizing his predecessors, but stating a fact.”

As expected, Twitter had some words in response, and it was brutal.
