Even in the face of impeachment, indictment and probably imprisonment for his growing list of felonies, President Donald Trump just managed got himself deeper into the Saudi Arabia murder scandal.
Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman’s murder of American journalist Jamal Khashoggi isn’t going away, and in fact, Khashoggi was just named one of Time Magazine’s people of the year. But the stable genius in the White House decided that now would be a good time to sit down for an interview with Reuters, and reiterate his support for Bin Salman and making this mess worse for him.
“He’s the leader of Saudi Arabia. They’ve been a very good ally,” Trump told the news agency.
Really. Trump is doing his best to tie himself to a murderer who has become radioactive on the world stage.
Of course, we all know Trump is doing this because the Saudi Arabian royal family controls him financially, and Trump is, therefore, sticking with Bin Salman, even at the expense of the United States.
It’s clear now that, for all the political and criminal trouble that Trump is facing, his top priority is to keep trying to line up his pocket with money from their overseas overlords. It couldn’t be more obvious that Trump expects his personal financial situation to immediately collapse if he doesn’t protect Saudi Arabia.
