A frustrated President Trump is reportedly fuming and blaming White House adviser Jared Kushner for his role in decisions that led to the appointment of special counsel Robert Mueller, a new report by Vanity Fair revealed Tuesday.
According to the report, Trump called former White House chief strategist Stephen Bannon Tuesday morning to complain about Kushner, blaming his son-in-law for encouraging him to fire former national security adviser Michael Flynn and former FBI director James Comey.
“Jared is the worst political adviser in the White House in modern history,” said Sam Nunberg, a former campaign aide to President Trump who was fired. “I’m only saying publicly what everyone says behind the scenes at Fox News, in conservative media, and the Senate and Congress.”
On Monday, Trump’s former campaign chairman Paul Manafort was charged with nine counts, including conspiracy against the United States and money laundering relating to his work for a pro-Russia political party in Ukraine. His longtime deputy, Richard Gates, was charged as well. Both pleaded not guilty.
Following the announcement, the erratic president fired off a flurry of tweets complaining about Mueller’s investigation being allowed to continue, and demanding the Republican Congress to “DO SOMETHING!.”
