Jeff Flake Tries To Clear Conscious On Kavanaugh Vote By Shaming Republicans For Celebrating
Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) didn’t see the need for Republicans to celebrate the confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh, saying that it didn’t seem right that they did.
“Frankly, I’ve looked at what’s happened since he’s been confirmed and to see our party kind of spiking the ball in the end zone it just doesn’t seem right,” Flake told C-SPAN on Thursday.
“This is an impartial referee that we’re putting on the court,” Flake said.
“But the fact that there is even an event to celebrate, you know with only Republicans there, no Democrats, I just didn’t think that that was right.”
Flake was one of the few Republicans debating whether to confirm Kavanaugh or not but ended up caving at the end.
After Kavanaugh’s confirmation, multiple Republican Senators gloated about it, including Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.).
The South Carolina Republican took to Twitter saying: “I’m not tired of winning……..Victory!”
