Jerry Nadler Readies Impeachment: ‘We Will Respond To The Crimes, Lies And Wrongdoings Of Trump’
House Judiciary Chairman Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) responded to special counsel Robert Mueller’s statements on Wednesday where he claimed that Donald Trump is not exonerated and the reason he didn’t charge Trump was because of longstanding Department of Justice policy.
Nadler said Mueller’s statement clearly placed the responsibility of determining wrongdoing on the shoulders of Congress.
“Although Department of Justice policy prevented the special counsel from bringing charges against the president, the special counsel has clearly demonstrated that President Trump is lying about the special counsel’s findings … Given that special counsel Mueller was unable to pursue criminal charges against the president, it falls to Congress to respond to the crimes, lies and other wrongdoings of President Trump — and we will do so,” Nadler wrote.
