Joe Biden Just Responded To Trump Official Who Mocked John McCain And Didn’t Hold Back
Former Vice President Biden just issued a scorching rebuke of the White House staffer who mocked Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) at an internal meeting.
Earlier today, The Hill reported that during a closed-door meeting at the White House Thrusday, special assistant Kelly Sadler dismissed McCain’s opposition to President Trump’s CIA nominee, saying, “It doesn’t matter, he’s dying anyway.”
McCain is currently being treated for revealed an aggressive form of brain cancer in Arizona.
Sadler’s comments came just hours after McCain expressed his opposition to President Trump’s nominee to head the CIA over her role in the Bush-era controversial torture program.
“People have wondered when decency would hit rock bottom with this administration. It happened yesterday,” Biden, a close friend of McCain’s, said in a statement. “John McCain is a genuine hero — a man of valor whose sacrifices for his country are immeasurable. As he fights for is life, he deserves better — so much better.”
Biden called the remark the “epitome” of the White House’s “trail of disrespect.”
“Our children learn from our example,” the former Delaware senator said. “The lingering question is whose example will it be. I am certain it will be John’s.”
After her comments were reported by the media, Sadler tried to walk back her remark and called Meghan McCain to apologize for the comment about her 81-year-old father, but “The View” co-host appeared unmoved on Friday.
“I don’t understand what kind of environment you’re working in when that would be acceptable, and then you could come to work the next day and still have a job,” Meghan McCain said in response.
