John Bolton’s Resignation Letter Has Been Leaked, It’s Short And Brutal
John Bolton, Donald Trump’s now-former, and fourth, National Security Advisor, called it quits on Tuesday after feuding with the president on Monday night.
Reporters have leaked his resignation letter and it’s not what you would expect.
The letter is short – just two sentences – and scathing in what it says, and doesn’t say.
The letter reads:
“I hereby resign, effective immediately, as Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs. Thank you for having afforded me this opportunity to serve our country.”
He didn’t mention Trump in it. No, “Thank you for your support” or, “It was an honor serving you.” Nothing of the sort. Bolton left by giving Trump one of the worst breakup letters ever seen.
Even the first paragraph of former Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis, whose letter of resignation detailed his frustrations with Trump, was longer.
“I have been privileged to serve as our country’s 26th Secretary of Defense which has allowed me to serve alongside our men and women of the Department in defense of our citizens and our ideals,” Mattis’ letter began. It was a page and a half long.
This goes to show that behind the curtains of the White House, there are feuds going on that we may not even know about.
