Lehigh University To Revoke Trump’s Honorary Degree: Report
It was reported on Monday that Faculty members at Lehigh University have been discussing whether the school should rescind Donald Trump’s degree.
According to local news station WFMZ, faculty members got together to vote on revoking Trump’s degree that was given to him back in 1988. They set up an online voting poll which received a 76% response rate.
83% of everyone who voted in the poll were in favor of revoking Trump’s honorary degree.
The issue has been pushed on the Board of Trustees for the past two weeks when “nearly 50 of Lehigh’s 471 faculty members approved a motion to hold an electronic vote for the entire teaching body to vote on whether to rescind the degree”
According to University officials, “Trump’s behavior goes against the character and standards of the Lehigh community.”
WFMZ reported that the results of the online poll will be presented to the school’s Board of Trustees in order to make a final decision whether or not they will revoke Trump’s honorary degree.
