London Mayor Blasts Trump After WH Announces The President Will Visit The UK

On Thursday press officials for the White House announced that Donald Trump would be visiting the UK this summer for a “working visit” with Britain’s Prime Minister Theresa May. London’s Mayor Sadiq Khan took to Twitter following the announcement to blast Trump.

Khan Tweeted:

“If he comes to London, President Trump will experience an open and diverse city that has always chosen unity over division and hope over fear. He will also no doubt see that Londoners hold their liberal values of freedom of speech very dear.”

There has been an ongoing feud between Trump and Khan that started when the U.S. president attacked the London mayor last year just hours after a terrorist attack rocked the city of London.

“At least 7 dead and 48 wounded in terror attack and Mayor of London says there is ‘no reason to be alarmed!'” Trump wrote in June, adding that London officials should “get down to the business of security for our people” and end political correctness.

The two have never met in person, but they don’t seem to be too fond of each other.

Back in November, Khan said that a visit by Trump “would not be welcomed” and that the U.S. president was touting “a vile, extremist group” in his tweets.
