Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) took to Twitter over the weekend to claim that reporters are happy that the United States now has the most reported cases of COVID-19 in the entire world.
Rubio wrote on Twitter:
Some in our media can’t contain their glee & delight in reporting that the U.S. has more #CoronaVirus cases than #China
Beyond being grotesque,its bad journalism
We have NO IDEA how many cases China really has but without any doubt its significantly more than why they admit to

It didn’t take long for Twitter users to fire back at the Florida Republican. Here are some of the best responses:
Senator, either you have no clue what you're talking about or you're being a jerk. I have friends in this industry who have the virus. We have to make exceptionally challenging calls about sending reporters into hot spots or places where they could get it. Do better.

Hey Little Marco,
As the president tweets with glee about his Bachelor-type ratings, people are DYING from COVID-19.
Why don't you TELL HIM how vile and inappropriate that is? You are disguised as a Senator, after all. pic.twitter.com/cneNz0OHZ1

Any comments on the 'president' taking glee & delight in his TV ratings while Americans are DYING? pic.twitter.com/hBz3cPVIqe

😏 Remember this @marcorubio?
"For years to come, there are many people on the right, in the media & voters at large that are gonna be having to explain & justify how they fell into this trap of supporting Trump, because this is not gonna end well." pic.twitter.com/Hew0hjgxzc

This isn't glee. pic.twitter.com/XdwwawOk14

Delight? Glee? Please think about that a little. I haven’t seen any such reaction among my colleagues. If you have. I’d be interested to know who you think is gleeful. We report facts. Which are sometimes inconvenient for those who dislike facts.

If you were a follower of Jesus you wouldn't be tweeting nonsense like this, but then again…

We have no idea either, asshole. And there is no glee in it. It’s to protect Americans from going out because you don’t take it seriously as it shows in Florida. Fuck all the way off.

What “glee”? I have seen only sorrow. concern, compassion, professionalism and completely appropriate frustration.

please remove "follower of Christ" from your bio, as this tweet makes it plain that you're not. Thanks!

Did you 3 know that Trump and Pompeo sent 17.5 TONS of PPE to China February 7, depleting our stockpile and leaving our doctors and nurses to wrap themselves in garbage bags for protection?
Did you know he has corrupted the CDC and turned them into Polly Parrots? Answer me. pic.twitter.com/TU3vnFsqxt— Janet Kay🌴☀️🦎 (@tinyboo49) March 30, 2020
