Donald Trump has yet to pass a major legislation during his first 8 months in the White House. One of the biggest reasons for that has been Republican Senator John McCain, who was the decisive vote on the Republican bill that would have repealed Obamacare.
On Tuesday, McCain told reporters that his committee is working on a bipartisan bill that will prevent Trump from banning transgender people from serving in the military. This will be yet another major defeat McCain hands Trump.
McCain, the chair of the Senate Armed Services Committee said that his committee is trying to add the amendment that would protect transgender soldiers from Trump’s ban to the NDAA:
🚨Asked McCain if he'll accept amendment to NDAA to block Trump's transgender troop ban: "We're working on it. We've been talking for days."

The amendment McCain is talking about is a bipartisan effort by Sens. Gillibrand (D-NY) and Collins (R-ME) to stop Trump from implementing his transgender ban.
If McCain is able to add the amendment to the final bill the Senate is expected pass the bill.
