Men Investigating Ivanka Trump’s Clothing Line In China Have Gone Missing
According to a report by the Associate Press published Tuesday, two men that were investigating the working conditions at a Chinese company that produces Ivanka Trump-brand shoes went missing, another man that was with them was arrested.
According to the AP, the three man were working for a New York-based nonprofit called China Labor Watch, which were getting set to publish a report next month about the maltreatment of workers by the Chinese company.
Hua Haifeng, the man that was arrested, was taken into custody and accused of illegal surveillance. The other two men, Li Zhao and Su Heng, are now both missing.
Heng had been working under cover at Ganzhou Huajian International Shoe City Co.’s factory in Jiangxi province. The company produces 10,000 to 20,000 pairs of shoes for Ivanka Trump’s brand each year, according to the AP.
The three man had already reported excessive overtime and a below minimum wage base salary at the Chinese company.
