Former Vice President Mike Pence on Friday fired back at Donald Trump, calling his former boss “wrong” for falsely claiming that the vice president had the “right and authority” to overturn the election he lost to Joe Biden.
“President (Donald) Trump is wrong,” Pence declared during a speech on Friday. “The presidency belongs to the American people and the American people alone. And frankly, there is no idea more un-American than the notion that any one person could choose the American president. Under the Constitution, I had no right to change the outcome of our election. “Look, I understand the disappointment many feel about the last election. I was on the ballot, but whatever the future holds, I know we did our duty that day,” he added.
