Mnuchin Begs Dems To Not Disclose How Much Secret Service Spends On Trump’s Travels Until After Election
A new report revealed on Wednesday that Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin is pleading Democrats to change draft legislation that would disclose how much the Secret Service spends during Donald Trump’s travels.
According to The Washington Post, Mnuchin wants the legislation to change in order to keep those spending numbers a secret until after the president has left office.
The disclosure requirement is part of a broader bipartisan bill that would transfer control of the Secret Service back to the Treasury Department.
Trump is on the route to becoming the most vacation-taking president in America. According to the Government Accountability Office, Trump’s first four trips to Mar-a-Lago cost the Secret Service roughly $1.3 million each.
