Trump economic adviser Larry Kudlow came out and told people to not worry about the coronavirus because it has already been “contained.” That statement contradicts what the Centers for Disease Control officials said on Tuesday.
Kudlow’s statement was shocking, to say the least. That’s why on Wednesday morning a “Morning Joe” panel called out the Trump administration for sending out false claims to the American people.
After watching a clip of Kudlow claiming that the virus had already been “contained” despite CDC officials’ warnings that the impact of the virus “might be bad,” host Mika Brzezinski’s eyes visibly widened.
“Oh my God!” she exclaimed. “You just… No!”
MSNBC host Stephanie Ruhle then shredded the White House for sending completely contradictory messages about the virus’s impact on both public health and the economy.
“This whole thing is stunning,” she said. “When you look at what happened to the market in the last two days, investors aren’t saying that they know that pandemic is coming, investors are selling because they have can’t trust information.”
