Musk Follows Through With His Promise After Trump’s Withdraw From Paris Climate Agreement

Tesla and SpeceX CEO Elon Musk is keeping true to his word. On Wednesday Musk threatened Donald Trump to step down from his positions on advisory councils in the White House if Trump decided to withdraw from the Paris climate agreement.

On Thursday Trump decided to withdraw from the Paris climate agreement and it didn’t take long for Musk to announce he was stepping down from positions.

“Am departing presidential councils,” Musk tweeted on Thursday. “Climate change is real. Leaving Paris is not good for America or the world.”

Musk attempted to persuade Trump for months to not withdraw the U.S. from the Paris climate agreement.

Musk received waves of harsh criticism for accepting a role in the Trump advisory councils, but he argued that it was important to be a part of the conversations with the White House, regardless of who is president.
