New Docs Reveal Trump Campaign Failed To Report Contacts With Russia Prior To Election
The Washington Post reported on Monday that federal investigators received documents that revealed the Trump Organization had two previously-unreported contacts with Russia prior to the 2016 election.
One contact took place just weeks before the Republican National Convention. Donald Trump’s lawyer Michael Cohen had an email conversation with a “business associate” about attending an economic conference in Russia which would have Russian President Vladimir Putin as an attendee.
According to the Post, Cohen was also involved with the Russian government in late 2015 where he fielded a proposal from a Russian billionaire who used to sit on the country’s Senate for a Moscow residential building. The latter was “the second proposal for a Trump-branded Moscow project that was delivered to the company during the presidential campaign and has since come to light.”
