New Poll Shows Americans Are Finally Seeing Through Trump’s ‘Divisive’ BS

According to a newly released poll, most Americans think Donald Trump has failed to realize the presidential role of uniter-in-chief and is instead doing more to divide the country than either of his two most recent predecessors.

Sixty-six percent of Americans said Trump is doing more to divide the country than unite it, according to the ABC News/Washington Post poll, released Sunday morning. The percentage is over 10 points higher than Presidents George W. Bush or Barack Obama ever received for the same question.

The poll also shows that Trump, despite a slight uptick in other approval rating trackers, continues to have the lowest favorable ratings at this stage of his presidency. His approval rating (39 percent for, 57 percent disapprove) is the lowest of any president at eight months in office.

On perhaps the most pressing issue of the moment, what to do about North Korea and its dictator, Kim Jong Un, Trump’s weak numbers continue. Sixty-two of poll respondents do not trust the commander in chief to act responsibly in handling the situation, while 37 percent do. This is compared to U.S. military leaders, who at 72 percent maintain about double the support of the president on the topic.

The poll was conducted from September 18-21, and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points.
