A new report revealed this week that the endangered sheep that was killed by Donald Trump Jr. was done so illegally.
According to ProPublica, Donald Trump’s eldest son obtained a permit from the Mongolian government days after it was reported that he shot and killed a long-horned argali sheep.
According to the report, he was only granted a permit to hunt after the killing of the endangered animal, whose numbers have plummeted in recent years amid hunting and destruction of its habitat in the rocky central Asian steppes.
Trump Jr. was received with special treatment by Mongolian officials and even met with the young democracy’s president in the capital of Ulan Bataar, according to the report.
