US Athletes, Coaches And Team Owners Just Made A Huge Mess For Donald Trump

Who is Bruce Maxwell? That’s probably what Donald Trump is googling right now, after the Oakland A’s became the first Major League Baseball player to take a knee during the National Anthem on Saturday night.

This was, rather clearly, in direct response to Trump’s attacks on NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick and NBA star Steph Curry. The particular circumstances behind Maxwell’s kneel-down just made a huge mess for Trump.

Then on Sunday, NFL players, coaches and team owners either took a knee or locked arms during the game between Baltimore Ravens and the Jacksonville Jaguars early Sunday morning.

As the national anthem was played, more players than usual dropped to one knee or linked arms with coaches in a severe rebuke to President Donald Trump who set off a firestorm Friday night after attacking ex-NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

In photos posted to Twitter, Jaguars owner Shahid Khan was also seen locking arms on the sideline with players.
