A newly released body cam footage revealed a New Jersey police officer brutally beating and handcuffed man who was laying on the ground screaming and then bragging about it to one of his colleagues, according to a Trentonian report.
According to the report, the incident occurred in April of last year. The incident began when Chanzie Washington reportedly led police on a car chase. Eventually the victim jump out of the car and ran until the police caught up with him and put him in handcuffs. The victim then was brutally punched and beat to the ground while handcuffed.
Drew Inman, one of the police officers who participated in the beating, was seen in the footage bragging to another officer about the beating.
“I beat the living shi…,” Inman says in view of the officer’s camera.
According to the report, Antony Villanueva, who is a hispanic cop, was immediately blamed for the incident and was placed on restricted duty. Inman, who is friends with the chief’s son, did not face any repercussion for a whole year before he was place on restricted duty as well.
“What Inman did was much worse, but they’re painting Anthony as the villain,” an anonymous police officer from the department told Trentonian.
