Increasingly frustrated, White House Chief of staff John Kelly is reportedly angry with White House advisers Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump and has questioned what the couple does during the day, The Associated Press reported Monday.
Sources told the AP that Kelly questions what the couple does all day and is upset by their “freelancing.” He is also angry with the pair, claiming that they are responsible for President Trump changing his mind on policies at the last minute.
Kushner and Ivanka Trump, however, reportedly viewed Kelly’s work on the clearances as a direct attack on them, according to the report.
The revelation comes after a tumultuous week in which President Trump suffered the departure of his closest aide, Hope Hicks, and the effective demotion of Kushner, who was stripped of his top-secret security clearance. Trump was also forced to deny, through an aide, that he was about to fire his national security adviser, Lt. Gen. H. R. McMaster over policy disagreements.
Last week, The New York Times reported that President Trump is frustrated with the coverage and is quietly looking for ways to remove Kushner and his daughter from the White House.
The Trump family is reportedly upset with Kelly, blaming him for the negative reports about Kushner, according to the AP report.
