Republican House Intelligence Committee chairman Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) is being accused of helping Trump obstruct the Russia investigation. The charge was made by Rep. Mike Quigley (D-IL) during an interview on MSNBC’s “The Beat With Ari Melber.”
“I think there are elements of what Mr. Nunez did that bringing them into the realm of obstruction of justice,” Quigley said. “I think there’s a really broad range that we give members for their ability to speak freely.”
Asked by the show host if it is possible that Nunes could be part of the obstruction of justice case, Rep. Quigley suggested the door is open for Devin Nunes to be investigated for obstruction of justice.
“Let me put it this way, I think that the chairman has helped the white house obstruct this case,” he said.
Quigley noted that it is unclear whether Nunes is part of what is being investigated by Robert Mueller, but he did make it clear that the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee is helping the President Of The United States obstruct justice.
It is gigantic that a member of the House Intelligence Committee would accuse his chairman of being involved in a plot to obstruct justice. And Nunes being investigated by a future Democratically controlled House of Representatives is now a real possibility.
