O’Rourke Turns The Table And Is Now Ahead Of Cruz As Midterms Approach: Poll

A new poll released this week shows that Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D-TX) leads Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) for the first time in their race for a Senate seat.

A new poll conducted by Ipsos, the Democratic congressman leads Cruz by 2 percentage points. The poll is in conjunction with Reuters and the University of Virginia.

Over the past few months, O’Rourker has been closing the gap on Cruz and the race has been neck and neck in a state that heavily votes Republican.

According to the poll, out of likely voters O’Rourke received 47 percent while Cruz got 47 precent of votes.

O’Rourkes lead is inside the margin of error, which is 3.5 percent, but this is the first poll that puts the Democrat in front.
