American citizens will now be able to get free coronavirus testing after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi got Donald Trump to agree to an aid package, according to NBC News.
According to the report, the aid package includes: “free testing, paid emergency leave and other resources intended to help stem the crisis and stabilize the financial markets.”
“We are proud to have reached an agreement with the Administration to resolve outstanding challenges, and now will soon pass the Families First Coronavirus Response Act,” Pelosi said.
Pelosi was able to overcome the GOP and come to an agreement with the White House after multiple conversations with Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin.
Trump has green-lighted the “Families First Coronavirus Response Act” and was expected to tweet his approval of the deal, two administration officials tell NBC News.
In a letter to her colleagues about the deal, Pelosi said, “This legislation is about testing, testing, testing.”
