Pelosi Just Hit Trump Right Where It Hurts Following Tense WH Meeting
Democratic House leader Nancy Pelosi was part of a tense meeting that took place at the Oval Office on Tuesday with Donald Trump and Democratic Senate leader Chuck Schumer.
During the meeting, Trump kept talking about how much the country needs a border wall at the southern border and claimed that if he didn’t get it he would shut down the government.
Following the meeting, Pelosi mocked Trump’s desire for a border wall and claimed that it’s a “manhood thing” for him.
“It’s like a manhood thing for him. As if manhood could ever be associated with him. This wall thing,” the California Democrat told members of the Democratic Steering and Policy Committee in a closed-door meeting after returning to the Capitol.
What surprised Pelosi was the fact that Trump said that he would “proudly” take responsibility for the government shutdown if there were to be one.
“But the fact is we did get him to say, to fully own that the shutdown was his,” Pelosi said, according to two sources inside the room. “That was an accomplishment.”
Pelosi also described the meeting as “wild.”
“It goes to show you: You get into a tinkle contest with a skunk, you get tinkle all over you,” she added.
