President Obama Finally Takes Action Against Russia For Hacking The Election
Barrack Obama is still doing great things even in his last weeks in office. It’s reportedly been said that Obama is preparing a fresh wave of sanctions against the Russian Federation over Vladimir Putin’s hacking during the election that ultimately caused Hillary Clinton to lose.
Back in April of 2015, an executive order was passed that allows President Obama to levy sanctions against individuals or nation-states that carry out cyber warfare crimes against the United States.
Russia’s hacking attempts began as a personal dispute to torment Hilary Clinton, but Putin soon realized how much of an idiot Trump was and how easily manipulated he was that the efforts began to focus on getting him elected as President of the United States.
Russia hacked files of the DNC and the personal emails of John Podesta, as well as the account of down-ballot Democrats. The emails were then strategically released to the public throughout the election to stir up a disagreement among liberals and to emphasize a false message being sent out by the Trumpian/Putinist propaganda narratives.
One of the primary objectives of Vladimir Putin’s pro-Trump efforts were to get the sanctions previously imposed by the Obama administration in 2014 following Putin’s occupation and annexation of the Crimean Peninsula from Ukraine. Those sanctions were as follows:
We have designated a number of Russian and Ukrainian entities, including 14 defense companies and individuals in Putin’s inner circle, as well as imposed targeted sanctions limiting certain financing to six of Russia’s largest banks and four energy companies. We have also suspended credit finance that encourages exports to Russia and financing for economic development projects in Russia, and are now prohibiting the provision, exportation, or reexportation of goods, services (not including financial services), or technology in support of exploration or production for deepwater, Arctic offshore, or shale projects that have the potential to produce oil in the Russian Federation, or in maritime area claimed by the Russian Federation and extending from its territory, and that involve five major Russian energy companies.
These sanctions will keep Putin from channeling more of Russia’s money into their private Swiss bank accounts, and from profiting on a possible $500 billion deal sign with the CEO of Exxon, Rex Tillerson(Trump’s secretary of state choice). Hopefully Obama will be able to write these sanctions into law in a way where Donald Trump wont be able to repeal them on his first day.
