President Barrack Obama surprised his close friend and right hand man, Joe Biden, with the Presidential Medal of Freedom on Thursday. He called him “the best vice president America has ever had.”
Biden’s reaction was priceless. “This honor is not only well beyond what I deserve, but it’s a reflection of the extent and generosity of your spirit,” he said.
Obama called Biden an “extraordinary man, with extraordinary career in public service.”
Biden had no idea of the surprise the President had for him. He “had no inkling” that the president was going to pay him tribute at the ceremony. He thought the ceremony was to reflect back on the last eight years.
Biden went on to talk about President Obama, saying, “This is a remarkable man, and I just hope the asterisk in history that will be attached to my name — when they talk about this president, that I can say I was part of, part of the journey of a remarkable man who did remarkable things for his country.”
The two have shared a bromance that will forever be installed in our hearts. Obama even joked saying “This gives the internet one last chance to talk about our bromance.”
