Charlie Kirk, the founder of conservative organization Turning Point USA, encouraged the crowd at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) on Wednesday to boo Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) for his role in the impeachment trial of Donald Trump.
Romney was the only Republican in the Senate to convict Trump at the impeachment trial.
On Wednesday, Kirk mentioned the past “Republican Party of Mitt Romney” during his speech at the Maryland event when the audience started to boo.
“Correct answer, by the way, correct,” Kirk said. “Every time his name is mentioned, you should respond that way.”
Kirk told the crowd that Romney, the 2012 Republican presidential nominee “lied to every single person in this room,” by voting for the “sham, unconstitutional impeachment.”
