REPORT: Mexico Cancels White House Visit Shortly After Trump Attacked Them On Twitter
Donald Trump is a Twitter maniac that wont last half a day without posting some ridiculous tweet. While Trump’s son-in-law and White House senior advisor Jared Kushner was meeting with Mexican officials about a potential state visit, Trump took to Twitter to bash on Mexico over his proposal of the border wall, the Wall Street Journal reported Friday.
“The U.S. has a 60 billion dollar trade deficit with Mexico. It has been a one-sided deal from the beginning of NAFTA with massive numbers … of jobs and companies lost. If Mexico is unwilling to pay for the badly needed wall, then it would be better to cancel the upcoming meeting,” Trump said in a pair of tweets on Jan. 26.
Kushner’s negotiations were thrown out the window as soon as Trump decided to post those tweets.
Shortly after the tweets were posted, Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto cancelled a planned visit to the U.S. to meet with the president.
Peña Nieto tweeted that he doesn’t plan on attending the scheduled meeting for Tuesday.
“This morning we have informed the White House that I will not attend the meeting scheduled for next Tuesday with the POTUS.”(translated from Spanish)
Esta mañana hemos informado a la Casa Blanca que no asistiré a la reunión de trabajo programada para el próximo martes con el @POTUS.

There has yet to be a meeting held with the two leaders since Trump won the election in November. Trump’s constant strikes at Mexico may cause the two countries’ alliance to crumble down.
