Report: Trump’s Lawyers Are Getting Ready For An Impeachment Battle
Donald Trump’s White House counsel has began to look for experts to help them out for a possible impeachment proceeding as the possibility of Trump being forced out of office arises, according to reports.
On Friday sources from the White House spoke with CNN and said that they have started researching the proceedings of impeachment as more calls from Democratic lawmakers to impeach the president.
The past two weeks have probably been the most scandalous for the Trump administration. Former FBI Director James Comey’s abrupt firing last week and subsequent stories surrounding the incident have caused a firestorm in Washington.
And to add more fuel to the fire, it was reported on Monday that Trump share highly classified information with Russian officials during their meeting at the White House.
But that’s not all, according to a Tuesday report, Trump asked Comey during a meeting to stop the investigation on former national security adviser Michael Flynn.
These events lead multiple lawmakers to question Trump’s intents of firing Comey. Some have even called it an obstruction of justice meant to interfere with the bureau’s investigation of Trump’s campaign ties to Russia. Others have called for impeachment over it.
Trump may still have a strong backing from Congressional Republicans, but his lawyers are doing everything possible to prepare for a possible impeachment.
