Trump Just Posted A Fake Quote From Abraham Lincoln On Instagram. It Didn’t Go Well

On Sunday, liar-in-chief Donald Trump decided to take a break from his Twitter account and chose Instagram to commemorated Abraham Lincoln’s birthday… with a fake quote.

“And in the end, it’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years,” Trump posted on Instagram with a photo of the Lincoln Memorial with the caption: ‘HAPPY BIRTHDAY Abraham Lincoln!!!’

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Abraham Lincoln!!!

As expected, Instagram users were quick to point out the fake quote:

“LINCOLN NEVER SAID THESE WORDS! #alternativehistory,” deepen915 wrote.

Another user blasted trump writing, “@realdonaldtrump if you are trying to convince people that you have a modicum of competence you might not want to falsely attribute quotes to Abraham Lincoln.”

“FAKE QUOTE come on trump. Stick to twitter,” wrote user jeffus3

Another user wrote: “This quote is fake as trump hair and supporters”

But Trump was not the only one sharing the fake quote. The entire republican party is now orbiting around the Trump’s ‘alternative facts’ universe.

The Republican Party’s official Twitter account is also celebrating Abraham Lincoln’s birthday with the same FAKE quote:

Republicans attributed the quote to Lincoln, but there’s no evidence he said it. In fact, the quote’s first appearance came about in 1947 for the advertisement of a book and it was attributed to Edward J. Stieglitz, M.D., who wrote ‘The Second Forty Years’ according to Quote Investigator.
